Autumn is the season that’s marks the transition from summer into winter. The leaves start to change colour, the maple leaf turns into a bright red, with the colours of yellow and orange start to become more prominent in autumn.  As the season changes so does the fashion, the perfect reason for going shopping for the latest trends for the autumn season ahead. This is also a great time to start looking for autumn fragrances that usually linger longer on the skin, are richer and more fragrant scents than the light summer fragrances.

In this second addition of autumn fragrances we will explore a few mens fragrances more suitable for autumn.

Our first selection mens fragrances for autumn that we will be exploring is Gucci Pour Homme II. Gucci Pour Homme II is a light and Spicer fragrance that opens with vibrant violet leaf and bergamot.  Cinnamon and white tea complete the middle notes with tobacco leaf, olive tree, musk and myrrh wrap the composition. Gucci Pour Homme II’s notes scream autumn, it won’t annoy the noes however it will compliment you as it’s not too heavy when you are wearing it during the cooler days or nights.

The second choice for our autumn mens fragrances is L’homme by Yves Saint Laurent. A mens fragrance that is known for drawing attention, the top notes draw you in with bergamot, lemon cedrat and ginger. The heart encompasses basil flowers, violet leaf and pepper heralds. The base combines sandalwood, Virginia cedar, Haitian vetiver and Tonka bean giving L’Homme its radiance and magnetism. The common notes of bergamot and violet leaf make it a nice addition for any men’s fragrance collection. The mix of basil flowers, sandalwood and pepper heralds give the fragrance its Spicer/woody edge.

Our third choice from the autumn mens fragrances is the famous classic Fahrenheit by Christian Dior. Launched in 1988, Dior’s Fahrenheit consists of a large fragrant note profile. Fahrenheit begins with mandarin, nutmeg flower, lavender, daisy, chamomile, bergamot and hawthorn.  Sandalwood, honeysuckle, cedar, violet leaf, carnation and nutmeg essence blend the middle notes. A versatile mens fragrance, Fahrenheit by Christian Dior can be easily worn during an autumn day or a cooler autumn night.

Autumn womens fragrance Part 1

Thursday, March 17th, 2011

Longer days and shorter nights are coming to end with summer being a distant memory for many of us. As we say good bye to the hot and humid season of summer and our light fragrances, we welcome the cooler nights and the new whispering breeze as we approach autumn.  As the days get shorter and darker the change of a season is a good time to change your perfume or fragrance to a slightly heavier scent with a little more depth.

This autumn we explore womens fragrances with light woodsy notes, muskier scents and fragrances with mystifying floral compositions.

The first of our autumn choice of a autumn womens fragrance is none other than Eternity Moment Eau de Parfum by Calvin Klein.A luxurious floral bouquet, the heart captivates you with Chinese pink peony, nymphea and passion flower. The origin of Passion Flower comes from the southern eastern areas of America. The passion flower is also known as Maypop for its tendency to pop up around May. Chinese Pink Peonies bloom in from late May through to June. The peonies come in three different colours, white, pink and red which are known to represent peace, prosperity and happiness. Other notes that blend into the composition are musk and rose wood in the base leaving a lovely scented aroma on the skin.

Our second womens fragrance is the famous Vera Wang Eau de Parfum. Launched in 2002 by the wedding gown designer, the fragrance mixes many floral notes like Bulgarian rose, iris and the distinctive and delicate white stephanotis. Roses have been commercially grown since the 1700’s in the heart of the Bulgarian “Valley of the Roses” often symbolised with love and romance. White stephanotises are often used in ceremonies and receptions as they hold up well and are also symbolised with romance, and widely used in the combination of wedding and bridal bouquets. The fragrance settles with sensual white woods, precious floral nectar and intoxicating musk’s.

Last but not least the classic Burberry Eau De Parfum. Introduced in 1995 this womens fragrance has all the compositions of an autumn fragrance. Grouped into the Floral Oriental fragrance family, Burberry for women blends notes of sweet jasmine, musk and a dominant vanilla scented aroma. The fragrance projects depth that’s not too light nor too heaving, it welcomes the cooler days and nights with open arms whilst saying good bye to summer.

Fashion & Perfume: What’s your style?

Thursday, April 29th, 2010

Whether you are planning to completely renovate your wardrobe or just update it with a few pieces that are trendy this season, you can always compliment your fashion with perfume. The right scent can create the impression you desire from fun to creative to romantic to professional. The persona you radiate is up to you but there are a few things you need to know to help you come up with the scent that is right for your personality and individual sense of style.

Are you looking for a signature scent or do you prefer to change your fragrance according to your environment or clothing choice?

Some people enjoy having a perfume that defines them. When they leave the room you know they’ve been there. When friends or family sniff the scent somewhere, this person immediately comes to mind. This is known as a signature scent. It doesn’t have to be strong but it is wise to choose something that you enjoy. Also you want to make sure the people closest to you appreciate the fragrance.

Other people love to change it up. They are looking for a few or even several fragrances that can match their different styles. They want something for their professional look at work, something for date night and something entirely different for a night out with the girls or boys. It can be a fun challenge to identify the right fragrances to fit different situations and styles.

Just like the fashion industry with the different styles for the season, the winter look and summer outfits makers and designers of perfumes and fragrances have done the same. Using the same concept a larger number of the later releases of fragrances are made for a specific seasons of the year, for the night life or just a casual every day fragrance. Let’s look at some of the limited editions for example, CK One has been around for a while and has done very well in terms of sales and popularity, now there are different variations of CK One, like CK One Summer. The concept behind CK One Summer it’s basically it’s a summer scent. It’s fresh, not too heavy and brings to mind the casual hot summer days spending time at the beach or the pool soaking in the sun. So there you have it, wether you choosing a fragrance for work, for going out at night or the strong elegant aromas for the formal occasions like weddings, there’s a fragrance style for all of them.
