Paco RabanneThe story of Paco Rabanne began when the Spanish civil war broke out, he and his mother fled to France to start a new life. Francisco "Paco" Rabaneda Cuervo, born 18 February 1934, Paco had studied architecture with this being for the foundation for career choice however this would not be the case.
Moving to France would be the change for Paco and this would see him enter the fashion world in the 1960's. Paco Rabanne started his fashion career by designing and creating accessories and jewellery for Christian Dior, Balenciage and Givenchy. He was innovative, unconventional not only with the materials he chose to use but also with his flamboyant designs and creations. Paco used materials such as plastic, paper, plastic stones and coffee beans.
With the encouragement from likes of Givenchy and Balenciaga, Paco Rabanne started his own fashion company and label in 1966. Paco Rabanne is also known for his costumes designs for films such as Barbarella.
Today Paco Rabanne is a house hold name in the fashion world and hots an ever growing portfolio of perfumes and fragrances. In 1963 Paco Rabanne introduced Calandre in 1969 for women followed by Paco Rabanne Pour Homme in 1973. XS Paco Rabbane was launched 1993 and Ultraviolet was launched in 1996 with Pour Elle for women later introduced in 2003. Black XS for him was later introduced in 2005 and Back XS for her was released in 2007. The latest perfume and fragrance releases from Paco Rabanne were One Million for men in 2008 and a women's version Lady Million later released in 2010.
