Paris Hilton

Paris Whitney Hilton was born in 1981 in New York City. Her father Richard and mother Kathy Hilton had four children with Paris being the eldest. Her Sister Nicky Hilton was born in 1983, brother Barron Nicholas Hilton II was born in 1989 and youngest brother Conrad Hughes Hilton III was born in 1994. She is a great-granddaughter of Conrad Hilton founder of Hilton Hotels. Paris moved between homes as a child which resulted in attending several different schools which also included a boarding school. Predominately known as a socialite, she has had other career paths including modelling, a musician, fashion designer and actress. Paris Hilton is known for her appearance on the television series The Simple Life alongside fellow socialite and childhood best friend Nicole Richie and for her legal incidents and publicised sentence in jail. In 2007, she is one of the few celebrities who rose to fame not because of their talent or work but because of their controversial lifestyle.

Paris assisted with designing a collection of purses and handbags for Japanese label Samantha Thavasa, and also a jewellery line for amazon.com.

In 2004, Paris was involved in the creation her own perfume line in conjunction with Parlux Fragrances. Originally set to be a small release, high demand led to a wider range before December 2004. The launch was followed by about a 45 to 50 percent increase in sales of Parlux products, predominantly due to sales of the Hilton-branded perfume. After the success of Paris Hilton's perfume, Parlux Fragrances released several more perfumes with her name, including a fragrance range for men. The first perfume release was self titled Paris Hilton in 2004 followed by Just Me in 2005 for men and women. Heiress was launched in the flowing year with Heir also launched in 2006 for men. Paris a new fragrance in 2007 Can Can followed by Fairy Dust in 2008.
